The theme studio has been completely redesigned with a modern, single-panel interface that puts everything at your fingertips. Style presets now appear in the breadcrumb navigation for faster access, and visual selection uses Power BI-style icons instead of dropdowns, making the experience more intuitive and familiar for Power BI users.

Free Tier & Subscription Model

Power UI is now accessible to everyone with our new free tier. Try the full studio experience, create themes, and save your work without any upfront cost. When you're ready to export and use your themes in Power BI, simply upgrade to Pro. Lifetime license holders maintain full access forever – your investment is protected.

Custom Brand & Neutral Colors

By popular demand, you can now add your own custom brand colors and neutral palettes. Simply input your hex code and Power UI will generate complete, harmonious color palettes based on your specifications. Custom neutral palettes give you full control over grays and backgrounds, ensuring your reports perfectly match your organization's visual guidelines.

Enhanced Resources

We've expanded our resource library with stunning high-quality background images that can be applied to page wallpapers or report canvases directly from the studio. The icon library now includes a comprehensive collection of flag icons, perfect for international dashboards and global reporting.

Style Preset Flexibility

Built-in style presets are protected to ensure consistency, but you can now customize the default style variant to match your needs. While other presets remain locked to receive automatic improvements, the default variant gives you complete control to set your own baseline. This balance ensures a stable foundation while maintaining the flexibility you need for custom designs.

Bug Fixes

Fixed an issue where theme variants could become duplicated under certain conditions, improving overall stability and theme management.

August 2025 - Icons, backgrounds, and studio polish

Icon Management

Icons are now fully integrated into the theme studio. You can add and customize icons directly within the interface, download them for use in your projects, and access our new comprehensive flag icon collection for international projects. We've also added dynamic dot icons that work perfectly for badges and table indicators.

Studio Experience

The studio now supports multiple example reports, allowing you to test your themes across different layouts instantly. We've added a curated collection of professional background images and visual report shell placeholders with dynamic image support. Navigation is now simpler with our consolidated sidebar that brings foundations, icons, and tools together.

Theme Customization

Brand colors now use standard Tailwind palettes for consistency across projects. The color token layout has been improved to clearly separate brand and state tokens. You can now control border radius values theme-wide with sensible defaults, and neutral colors use standard Tailwind gray palettes. Sharing themes is easier than ever with copy-paste JSON functionality.

Quality Improvements

Essential theme variants are now protected from accidental deletion. We've streamlined billing with automatic invoice creation and fixed several issues including button border display when icons are enabled, and improved both dashboard and base theme creation workflows.

July 2025 - Next-generation visual editor

Visual Theme Editor

The all-new visual theme editor features live Power BI preview that updates in real-time as you make changes. Import and edit your existing themes, use focus mode to perfect specific chart types, and enjoy auto-save functionality with visual change indicators. Export professional JSON files with built-in validation to ensure compatibility.

Design System

A token-based color system now supports both light and dark modes seamlessly. Choose from pre-built professional color palettes or Azure-inspired neutral options. Global typography controls ensure consistent text styling across your entire report, while new canvas and layout customization options give you complete control over the visual structure.

Collaboration

Share themes within your organization or publish them to the public marketplace for community use. The new team member management portal makes it easy to control access, and flexible visibility controls let you keep themes private, share with your organization, or make them public.

Icons & Resources

Access over 1,400 Lucide icons with dynamic color support that matches your theme. Export icons in bulk via CSV for easy Power BI import. Interactive example reports help showcase your themes in action, and downloadable PBIX templates provide quick starting points for new projects.

Bug Fixes & Improvements

We fixed several UI issues to improve stability. The border radius picker now uses integer pixel values for better Power BI compatibility, and theme colors display consistently in the color picker. Error handling for Power BI embed tokens has been improved, preview loading is more reliable with proper timeout handling, and the border radius preview visualization has been corrected.

November 2024 - Style presets and templates

Style Presets

Choose from over 55 style presets for visuals, buttons, and cards to quickly achieve professional designs. Visual padding is now adjustable from 16px to 20px to match your design preferences. New border options include subtle and no border styles, with enhanced controls ensuring visual consistency across your entire report.

Report Templates

We added 15+ professionally designed report templates with improved data models and layout structures. Pro members can now download PBIX files directly, and all templates are organized by category for easier discovery and selection.

August 2024 - Theme generator launch
