AI Theme Assistant

Overview

The AI Theme Assistant understands your design intent and translates it into precise theme settings. Instead of navigating through menus and controls, describe what you want in plain language: "Make it dark and professional with blue accents" or "Use warmer colors with rounded corners." The assistant handles the technical details while you focus on the creative direction.

Access the assistant by clicking the sparkle button in the bottom-right corner of the Theme Studio. Changes apply instantly to the live preview, so you can see results immediately and refine your request if needed.

Capabilities

The assistant can modify nearly every aspect of your theme. For colors and palettes, it can set your brand color and generate matching shades, create data visualization color schemes, select neutral palettes (Gray, Slate, Sage, Sand, and others), configure state colors for success, warning, and error indicators, and switch between light and dark modes.

For backgrounds, the assistant can set canvas and wallpaper colors, apply background images from curated categories (Energy, Midnight, Sunset, Radiant, Iridescent, Spring), and create gradient backgrounds in various styles including blob, mesh, and aurora effects.

Typography and layout controls include setting the global font family, configuring visual title styling (size, weight, color), adjusting border radius from none to large, and controlling padding and spacing throughout the theme.

For detailed visual styling, the assistant can customize backgrounds, borders, and shadows on visuals, configure axes, legends, and data labels, apply styles to specific visual types (like styling only bar charts or only cards), and adjust gridlines and reference lines.

Start broad, then refine. Begin with a general direction like "dark theme with green accents," then make specific adjustments: "make the titles a bit smaller" or "use a warmer neutral." This iterative approach produces better results than trying to specify everything upfront.

The assistant remembers your conversation history within a session. You can say "actually, make the brand color darker" or "go back to the previous neutral palette" without repeating context. Use this to your advantage when exploring different directions.

Watch the live preview as changes apply in real-time. If something doesn't look right, immediately ask for adjustments rather than starting over. The assistant can make incremental changes based on what you're seeing.

Combine AI assistance with manual controls. Use the assistant for broad strokes and complex operations, then fine-tune with the sidebar controls for precise adjustments. The two approaches work together seamlessly - changes made by either method are reflected in the same theme state.

Background Image Categories

The assistant can apply background images from six curated categories, each containing 30 high-quality options. Energy backgrounds feature bold, dynamic patterns. Midnight offers dark, atmospheric designs. Sunset provides warm orange and pink tones. Radiant includes bright, luminous options. Iridescent contains holographic, colorful patterns. Spring features fresh, natural greens.

Request these with simple prompts like "Add a midnight background" or "Use a radiant background image." The assistant will select an appropriate image from the category and apply it to your theme.

Usage Limits

AI usage is measured in tokens (roughly 4 characters per token). Your plan determines your monthly allowance:

Tokens reset on the first of each month. A typical theme creation session uses 5,000-15,000 tokens depending on the complexity of your requests and conversation length. The assistant will notify you if you approach your limit.
